There she is Miss America 2017…Arkansas girl Savvy Shields!  So did you watch the pageant or go for the football game?  Either way no worries we are going to recap some of our favorite evening gown looks from last nights event.  After all you know the dress trends are what you want to know about for prom 2017.  Credit to Laura Marano as she said it best “It’s like prom…on steroids.”

Even pageant trend setters look toward celebrity and couture designs for style inspiration with their evening gowns. Miss Texas Caroline Carothers looked toward velvet thanks to Lady Gaga’s latest red carpet arrival.  While Miss California Jessa Carmack credits her very laid back style to actress Nina Dobrev.  Then, Miss Mississippi Laura Lee Lewis even mentions Disney Princess Elsa from “Frozen” and Cinderella as the styling icons she envisioned with her evening wear choice.  But what you really want to know is what  trends will show up during your prom shopping experience.

South Carolina Rachel Wyatt was elegant in an intricate floral detailed sheath with full over skirt.  Yes, you will see over skirts for prom and just like this beautiful dress the style will make your look ultimately striking and elegant.

Then, we look toward the styling of Miss New York Camille Sims.  This dress has mixed reviews in pageant circles as well as with us but leave off the sheer wrap detail and we would love the silver metallic beading done in a directional pattern.  Look for both metallic hues and directional beading for prom 2017 and you will be on trend with either.

Now, it is time for a few more of our favorite looks from Miss America 2017.  Look for the following trends with these evening gowns: cap sleeves, flowing cape and embellished lace.  Even though you can not see the whole dress the simplicity for Miss Arkansas (the winner) is on trend for prom also.  So, are you ready?
